Consett

Consett perches in the Durham hills, a former steel town that's reinvented itself as a regional hub. The A692 connects it to Newcastle via the scenic Derwent Valley, whilst the A68 runs north to the Scottish borders. With over 150 EV charging points and excellent A1(M) access via Stanley, it's well-connected for both local trips and longer journeys. The town's sculpture trail now occupies the old steelworks site, crowned by the impressive "Terris Novalis" monument.
