Cockley Beck

Cockley Beck occupies a spectacular position where three Lake District valleys converge, reached via the challenging Wrynose and Hardknott passes from either Ambleside or Eskdale. Most visitors arrive on day trips from nearby towns like Ambleside (20km), though the narrow mountain roads with steep gradients and hairpin bends demand careful driving. The hamlet's stone bridge spans the infant River Duddon at the precise meeting point of three ancient valleys.
