Clogherhead

Clogherhead is a small fishing village on County Louth's coast, about 8 kilometers east of Drogheda via the R166. From Dublin, take the M1 north to Drogheda then follow local roads east, roughly 50 kilometers total. The R166 winds through farmland before hitting the dramatic coastline, while locals often use the R167 from Termonfeckin or back roads from Baltray. The village sits near the M1 corridor, making it handy for day trips from Dublin or Belfast. The working harbor still hosts fishing boats, and you can spot them heading out past the distinctive red and white striped lighthouse on calm mornings.
