Clifden serves as the unofficial capital of Connemara, perched on the edge of Clifden Bay where the Atlantic meets the rolling hills. The N59 from Galway takes about an hour and twenty minutes through dramatic countryside, while the coastal R341 from Roundstone offers grand ocean views. The town has around 11 public EV charging stations for those exploring the hiking trails and coastal spots nearby. The twin church spires, one Catholic and one Protestant, tower over the town center and can be spotted from miles away across the Connemara hills.
