Cliburn is a small Cumbrian village in the Eden Valley, reached via Junction 39 of the M6 then the A6 north. The 12th-century St. Cuthbert's Church contains remarkable medieval wall paintings uncovered during 1980s restoration work, making it worth the detour from the main tourist routes.
