Clachan lies on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, reached via the A865 which runs the length of the island. Most visitors fly into Benbecula Airport 8km north, though ferries serve Lochboisdale 20km south. The village sits beside Loch Bee, which hosts one of Scotland's largest populations of mute swans.
