Choppington is a former mining village in Northumberland, about 15 miles north of Newcastle. The A189 provides the main connection to the A1 and A19, with Newcastle International Airport just 12 miles away. The area has over 100 EV charging points reflecting its transition from coal country. The old Choppington Welfare building remains the community's social hub.
