Chivenor lies near Braunton on the North Devon coast, centred around the Royal Marines Base with its operational airfield. The A361 provides the main route via Barnstaple, whilst the B3231 connects through Braunton and local villages. The settlement sits where the Taw estuary meets the Atlantic, with over 40 EV charging points serving the broader area. The base maintains one of Britain's few remaining grass runways still used by modern military aircraft.
