Chiserley perches on the hillsides above Hebden Bridge in the upper Calder Valley, reached via the A646 from either Halifax or Burnley. The steep lanes climbing from the valley bottom follow centuries-old packhorse routes through this former mill country. The settlement commands fine views over the restored Rochdale Canal below.
