China Grove is a small Texas town about 20 miles southeast of San Antonio, home to around 1,200 people. Take I-37 south from San Antonio, then head east on Highway 97 to reach the community. It's close to several military bases and sits in rolling Hill Country terrain. The town's annual Founder's Day festival in October features live music and a popular barbecue cook-off.
