Centerville is a small farming community in eastern Indiana, just 10 miles west of Richmond via State Road 40. Most visitors arrive from Interstate 70, exiting at Richmond and following SR-40 west for about 15 minutes. The town sits in rolling agricultural country near the Ohio border, with US Route 27 providing north-south connections. Centerville's claim to fame is its historic covered bridge on Martindale Road, one of Wayne County's last remaining wooden covered bridges still open to cars.
