Ceann Hurnavay lies on Lewis's eastern coast, 12km from Stornoway via the A859 and local roads. This small Hebridean settlement connects to neighbouring communities through single-track roads with passing places, typical of island driving. Visitors usually fly into Stornoway Airport or take the Ullapool ferry. The area maintains traditional Gaelic signage alongside English on most road markers.
