Catcott

Catcott sits on the Somerset Levels, surrounded by the flat peat moorlands that define this corner of southwest England. Reach it via the A39 from Junction 23 of the M5, about 8 miles south through Bridgwater direction. The village lies roughly 10 miles northeast of Bridgwater, with local connections to Edington and Chilton Polden on minor roads that can flood in winter. The village maintains one of the last traditional peat cutting operations in the Levels, where workers still hand-cut rectangular blocks using centuries-old methods.
