Castleknock

Ireland

Ireland

Castleknock is a residential suburb about 10 kilometres west of Dublin city centre, sitting along the River Liffey with Phoenix Park nearby. The M50 motorway connects it to major cities via Junction 6 at Blanchardstown, while the N4 from Dublin becomes the R148 through Chapelizod. Local routes include the R121 and Carpenterstown Road. The area has good electric vehicle charging infrastructure and several golf courses including Grange and Castle. The village gets its name from 12th-century Norman castle ruins on a hill overlooking the Liffey, originally built by Hugh Tyrrel.
