Castle Vale is a 1960s planned estate in northeast Birmingham, built on a former airfield site. The A38 Tyburn Road provides the main route into Birmingham city centre, whilst Junction 5 of the M6 at Castle Bromwich offers motorway access. Popular local routes include Kingsbury Road to Erdington and the A47 towards Birmingham Airport. The area's flat terrain reflects its aviation heritage, and the distinctive circular shopping centre known as "The Circle" remains the estate's focal point.
