Castle Baynard
Ireland
Ireland
Castle Baynard occupies a prime Thames-side location in the City of London, where a Norman castle once controlled the river approach. Drivers reach the area via Queen Victoria Street or Upper Thames Street, with major routes connecting through the A4 Embankment from the west. The ward sits within London's Congestion Charge zone and offers limited parking, though Blackfriars station provides excellent rail connections. The area takes its name from the medieval Baynard's Castle, demolished in 1720 after serving as a royal residence.
