Carskey

Scotland
Carskey perches at the very tip of the Kintyre Peninsula, as remote as mainland Scotland gets. The A83 winds down from Campbeltown through increasingly dramatic coastal scenery, ending where the peninsula almost touches Northern Ireland. It's about three hours from Glasgow via Inveraray, or an hour's coastal drive from Tarbert. The Mull of Kintyre Lighthouse, built in 1788, marks Scotland's southernmost point and requires a proper walk down a steep cliff path to reach.
