Carrigadrohid

Ireland

Ireland

Carrigadrohid sits about 25 kilometres west of Cork city in the Lee Valley, where the river widens into a reservoir surrounded by rolling Cork countryside. Take the N22 toward Killarney then branch north through Coachford for a 30-minute drive from the city. From Cork Airport, allow 45 minutes via the N27 and ring road. The village lies right beside Carrigadrohid Dam, built in 1957 as part of the Lee Hydro-Electric Scheme that still powers the national grid today.
