Cardenden is a former mining town in central Fife, connected via the A92 from Dundee or Edinburgh (via M90). The B981 links to Lochgelly and surrounding villages like Bowhill and Auchterderran. Electric vehicle drivers will find over 70 fast chargers in the area, mainly around Kirkcaldy. The preserved Bowhill Colliery headframe remains one of Fife's last standing pit head structures.
