Carcroft Common lies just north of Doncaster in former mining country. Reach it via Junction 5 of the M18, then the A638 through Adwick le Street. The area centres around a small patch of grassland, one of the last remnants of genuine common land from before the collieries transformed this corner of South Yorkshire.
