Carbost sits on Loch Harport's western shore on Skye, reached via the B8009 from the A87 at Drynoch. Most visitors drive from Portree (30 minutes) or arrive via the Skye Bridge. About 6 EV charging points serve the area. The village is famous for housing Talisker Distillery, Skye's oldest working whisky distillery, operating since 1830.
