Caol sits beside Loch Linnhe near Fort William, connected by the A830 Road to the Isles. Long-distance visitors arrive via the A82 from Glasgow or Inverness, whilst locals use the A830 for trips to Corpach and Mallaig. The village offers dramatic loch and mountain views, with Ben Nevis visible to the northeast. The Nevis Centre houses an ice rink where Lochaber Phoenix ice hockey team plays.
