Cala

South African English DESCRIPTION Cala's a small Eastern Cape dorpie in the old Transkei, sitting on the R56 between Queenstown and Elliot. Locals nip through to Khowa, Elliot, and Ngcobo for daily errands, all under an hour's drive. Visitors usually pass through en route to the Wild Coast, Coffee Bay, or down to Port Alfred. EV charging is thin on the ground here, so juice up in Queenstown first. Don't miss the Cala Pass just outside town, a proper set of hairpin bends that keeps taxi drivers on their toes.
