Caherdaniel (Cathair Dónall)

Caherdaniel sits along the N70 on the Ring of Kerry route, handily placed between Waterville and Sneem for those doing the full circuit. Most folk arrive via the N22 from Cork through Killarney, then pick up the N72 to Killorglin before joining the coastal road. It's about 4.5 hours from Dublin if you're driving straight through. The village has decent electric vehicle charging points for tourists, and there are two proper golf courses nearby at Skellig Bay and Waterville. The big draw is Derrynane House, Daniel O'Connell's old place, which tells the story of the Great Liberator himself.
