The only route in is Highway 4, a winding drive over the island from Parksville or Qualicum Beach, roughly 141 to 149 km and three to four hours from the ferry terminals at Nanaimo. Port Alberni, 103 km out, is the regular supply run for locals. EV chargers are available in Port Alberni and Ucluelet, though gaps remain on the mountain stretch.
