It's Ireland's premier surfing spot, with autumn and winter swells drawing surfers from across Europe to breaks like The Peak. The town keeps its Victorian seaside resort character with amusement arcades and chip shops along the promenade. The Fairy Bridges, natural rock arches carved by Atlantic waves, are the most photographed landmark on the coastal walk.
