Brownsdale is a small Minnesota city of 850 people located about 10 miles northeast of Austin via County Road 6. Highway 56 provides north-south access, while I-90 serves long-distance travelers through Austin. The community sits along the Cedar River in agricultural Mower County. A working historic grain elevator still operates here, visible from the main road into town.
