Brompton-on-Swale is a North Yorkshire village between Richmond and Catterick, reached via the A6108 from Scotch Corner or A6055 from Richmond. The military presence at nearby Catterick Garrison shapes much of the local traffic patterns. The village church houses a remarkable 14th-century knight's brass, amongst the finest medieval metalwork in the county.
