Broadford is Skye's second-largest village, positioned on the A87 between the Skye Bridge (13km) and Portree. The A881 branches west toward Elgol's dramatic coastline. With the Red Cuillins as a backdrop and Broadford Bay stretching before it, the village makes an excellent base for exploring southern Skye. The grass airstrip still welcomes light aircraft, maintaining its role as a Highland transport hub.
