Brightside forms part of Sheffield's northeastern industrial belt, transformed from its steel-making past into a mixed residential area. The M1 Junction 34 provides the main access, whilst local routes connect via Brightside Lane to Sheffield centre and Meadowhall. The district retains one of Sheffield's last traditional working men's clubs in a Victorian building.
