Blacksburg is a small city of 2,000 people in Cherokee County, right off I-85 between Charlotte and Spartanburg. It's about 45 miles from Charlotte and serves as the county seat. The interstate makes it a convenient stop for travelers, with several EV charging stations now available. The city is perhaps best known for housing a major state correctional facility that's been a key local employer for decades.
