Bigges Main

Bigges Main is a residential area in Wallsend, just east of Newcastle city centre along the Tyne's north bank. Access is straightforward via the A187 Coast Road from Newcastle or the A19 for longer journeys. The nearby Segedunum Roman fort and museum marks where Hadrian's Wall met the River Tyne, making this spot the eastern terminus of Rome's great northern frontier.
