Bandon

Bandon sits along the Bandon River in County Cork, about 30 kilometers from Cork city via the N71 or R589. It's a handy base for exploring West Cork, with day trips to Clonakilty, Skibbereen, and Bantry easily managed. The R600 takes you east to Kinsale, while the N71 runs the coastal route west. Around 50 public fast chargers serve the area for electric vehicles. The town was founded as a 17th-century Protestant settlement, quite unusual for Ireland, and you can still see the original planned layout along the main street with its distinctive Protestant church at the center.
