Ballynaskeagh lies in County Down's farming country, roughly 11 kilometres southwest of Banbridge via the B25. Most visitors arrive from Belfast using the A1 to Banbridge, then follow local roads through the countryside. The village retains its traditional Ulster character, centered around a Presbyterian church whose stone tower has marked this spot since the early 1800s.
