Ballyhide

Ireland

Ireland

Ballyhide in County Carlow makes a handy stop along the southeastern corridor between Dublin and the southern counties. It's about 80 kilometers south of Dublin via the M9, then onto local roads, making it grand for weekend golf breaks from the capital. The town connects easily to Carlow via a short 15-kilometer drive, while longer routes come through the N80 from Portlaoise or R724 from Kilkenny, both cutting through lovely rolling farmland. There's decent charging infrastructure with around 30 fast chargers nearby for electric cars. Mount Wolseley Golf Course is the main draw here, with its championship layout following the natural contours and a tricky 18th hole requiring a precise shot over water.
