Ballyforan

Ireland

Ireland

Ballyforan is a small County Roscommon town along the River Suck, just inside the Galway border. The R446 runs straight through, connecting north to Roscommon town and south to Ballinasloe, making it handy for day trips from Galway city 45 kilometers away via the N6. From Dublin it's about 150 kilometers using the M6 to Ballinasloe then north on the R446. The town's claim to fame is its elegant seven-arched stone bridge from the 1700s that still carries all the traffic across the Suck.
