Baliasta sits on Unst, Britain's northernmost inhabited island in Shetland. Getting there requires two ferry crossings from the Shetland mainland via Yell, following the A970, B9081, and A968. The journey's worth it for access to Hermaness Nature Reserve, where massive gannet colonies nest near Muckle Flugga lighthouse at Britain's most northerly point.
