Balchrick perches on Scotland's wild northwestern coast in Sutherland, reached via the A838 and winding single-track roads from Inverness (120 miles, three hours). Most visitors combine it with Highland touring routes, whilst locals make short trips to Kinlochbervie for services. The settlement provides access to Sandwood Bay's isolated beach and the towering Am Buachaille sea stack.
