Aughleam (Eachléim)

Aughleam sits on the wild Mullet Peninsula in County Mayo, one of Ireland's most westerly settlements. The main approach follows the N59 from Ballina, then the R313 through Belmullet to reach this remote Atlantic outpost. From Dublin it's about 280 kilometers via Castlebar, while Galway drivers can take the N59 directly north for 140 kilometers. The peninsula draws visitors to Carne Golf Course's links layout and coastal walks, with Belmullet Aerodrome serving small aircraft.
