Auchenbreck is a small Cowal Peninsula village reached via the A886 from Dunoon, about 15 kilometres through Glen Lean. Most visitors drive from Glasgow via the Rest and Be Thankful pass, whilst locals use shorter routes to nearby Tighnabruaich. The village sits near Glendaruel Valley, home to the Clach na Criche, an ancient boundary stone circle between former clan lands.
