Askeaton

Askeaton sits along the River Deel in County Limerick, about 30 kilometres west of Limerick city via the N69. The town makes a handy base for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way, with Shannon Airport just 20 kilometres northeast and good connections to Dublin via the M7. The medieval castle ruins on an island in the river are the main draw, reached by a stone bridge that locals still use daily to get between the castle grounds and town proper.
