Ashburnham

Ashburnham is a small East Sussex village in the High Weald, 7km northwest of Battle. Reach it via the A271 from Battle or Herstmonceux, with longer routes using the A21 from London or A259 from the coast. The village centres on the historic Ashburnham estate, famous for its mile-long sweet chestnut avenue planted in the 17th century.
