Arkle Town

Arkle Town lies in upper Swaledale, reached via the B6270 from Richmond through Reeth. This tiny Yorkshire Dales settlement sits at 300 metres elevation in classic Pennine countryside. Long-distance visitors typically approach from the A1(M) at Scotch Corner or via the A66 trans-Pennine route. The old Arkle Inn retains its original coaching sign depicting the famous racehorse.
