Ardgroom perches on the northern shore of the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, sheltered from Atlantic storms by surrounding hills. The R571 coastal road provides the main access, either from Cork city via the N71 through Bantry and Castletownbere (about two hours), or from Kerry through the scenic Healy Pass crossing the Caha Mountains. The village sits near the ancient Ardgroom Outward Stone Circle, five Bronze Age standing stones overlooking Coulagh Bay with views across to the Kerry mountains.
