Annagassan
Ireland
Ireland
Annagassan is a small coastal village in County Louth where the Glyde River meets the Irish Sea, about 10 kilometres northeast of Drogheda and 80 kilometres north of Dublin. From Dublin, take the M1 to Junction 12, then the R132 through Drogheda to local roads. The area draws golfers to courses like County Louth Golf and Seapoint Golf, plus visitors to the Cooley Distillery. What makes this place special is that it was established as a Viking longphort around 841 AD, actually predating Dublin as a Norse trading settlement.
