Altnaharra

Altnaharra occupies a remote spot in Sutherland's Flow Country, reached via the A836 from Lairg to Tongue. This Highland village sits amongst vast peat bogs and scattered lochs, serving long-distance routes to Thurso and Inverness whilst connecting local crofting communities. The settlement famously recorded Britain's coldest-ever temperature at -27.2°C in 1995.
