Altandhu perches on Scotland's wild northwest coast, a tiny settlement overlooking the Summer Isles. Reach it via single-track roads from Ullapool (25 miles) or a longer route from Inverness via the A835 and A837. The exposed Atlantic position means fierce winds year-round, whilst the small harbour still shelters a few working fishing boats that continue a centuries-old tradition.
