Alligator is a tiny Delta community in Bolivar County with just over 100 residents, accessible via Mississippi Highway 1. The town sits about 45 miles from Vicksburg and connects to major routes through Highway 49W to the east. It's named for the alligators that once populated the area's bayous and wetlands.
