Acrise

Acrise is a small village in East Kent's North Downs, reached via the A260 between Canterbury and Folkestone. The area sits on elevated chalk downland typical of this part of Kent, with good connections to the M20 motorway through junctions near Folkestone and Hythe. Local lanes connect neighbouring villages like Elham and Lyminge through countryside dotted with traditional oast houses. The village is notable for the Devil's Kneading Trough, a field scattered with enormous sarsen stones that local folklore attributes to the devil's handiwork.
