Achnabat

Achnabat is a tiny Highland settlement on Scotland's far north coast, reached via the scenic A99 coastal road. Most visitors drive the 40km from Thurso through Melvich, though the route from Lairg via the A836 and Bettyhill offers stunning inland scenery. The name means "field of the boats" in Gaelic, hinting at its maritime heritage.
